Scone's Katie Sutcliffe is currently representing the Upper Hunter electorate in the inaugural Regional Youth Taskforce, an ministerial advisory group which gives youth a voice to raise everyday issues faced by friends and classmates in their communities.
Since its formation last year, members have provided advice and feedback to NSW Government ministers on local issues resulting in immediate action and work undertaken to deliver improvements in areas such as education, digital connectivity and obtaining a drivers license.
Member for Upper Hunter Michael Johnsen is encouraging applicants aged between 12 and 24 who want to have a say on what their peers need when it comes to services, programs and infrastructure in the bush.
Being on the taskforce is a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and tells the government what you really want for your community
To apply you'll need to fill out the form and create a short video on your phone about who you are and what the most important issues impacting young people in your community are. Travel costs and accommodation for taskforce members will be covered when travelling across NSW for meetings.
Applications close on October 18.
