The Local Grandparent of the Year Awards are a highlight of Grandparents Day which falls on Sunday October 25.
There's no denying it's been tough on our grandparents this year with COVID-19 meaning they have had to isolate more than most to keep themselves safe.
That means they haven't been able to see their family members as much but they have still been there for us on the phone and via video calls whenever we need them.
Member for Upper Hunter, Michael Johnsen believes that Grandparents Day is the perfect opportunity to show grandparents just how much they are loved and appreciated.
"We have some truly inspiring grandparents in our Upper Hunter electorate and it would be great to see them honoured," Mr Johnsen said.
"The Local Grandparent of the Year winner can be nominated for the big gong which is the NSW Grandparent of the Year Award."
Nominations close at midnight on September 24. Please contact Michael Johnsen's office on 6543 1065 or email upperhunter@parliament.nsw.gov.au to nominate a grandparent.
