It's these kind of achievements and the social benefits that come with working together on a project that are being celebrated during National Men's Shed Week.
Running from Monday September 28 through to Saturday October 3, the week is an annual opportunity to showcase Men's Sheds to the world and Gloucester is no exception.
Despite hitting a bump in the road with the Gloucester Men's Shed having to shut down at the end of March due to COVID-19, they have been back in action since the end of June.
And it's a good thing too. Not only is it important for the members to stay connected to each other, they also have some pretty cool projects underway. As well as building the bridge replica for the Gloucester Museum, they are also creating a few riding obstacles for the Gloucester Pony Club, including a wooden bridge and a wooden bull.
According to Gloucester Men's Shed secretary Ray Vale if someone in the community has a small project they need doing, the men are happy to have a look into it.
"We have almost every trade represented in our members. We are capable of doing just about anything small in nature," Ray explained.
The group are regularly commissioned to make things like surveying pegs or coasters holders for local businesses.
"We don't wish to compete with other businesses," Ray said.
The group only takes on the projects that are a bit too small for others. But at the end of the day, the shed is all about having a place for men to get together, build things and chat.
"Even if they just want to come out, have a coffee and a chat about men's business," Ray said.
Currently Gloucester Men's Shed has 44 members and they meet every Wednesday at 509 Fairbairns Road. Members have access to the shed at anytime to work on the projects. For more information, email Ray at admin@gloucestermensshed.com.au
