Club captain Roy Crichton had a superb round to "blitz" the entire field with a net 68 four shots ahead of the field with second placed Gary Peters scoring a very creditable net 72, a count back ahead of three players all on 72: Steve Hurworth, Steve Kriss and John Herd all of whom headed the ball competition run down.
Close behind on net 73 were Mark Stone and Derek Bardwell with the field of ball winners falling away a tad with four players at 76: Peter Buettel, Sue Pickering, a welcome visitor from The Coast Golf Club, Bob Kirkup and Bill Murray.
Roy Crichton doubled his trophy cabinet with a win in the associated putting competition with 30 putts in his round. This time though he didn't have it all his own way only just edging John Herd and Mark Stone on a count back.
Next Tuesday's event is an Irish Four Ball with an Individual Stableford in conjunction. With the start of daylight saving, summer time, Gloucester veterans will be starting at 8am for 8.30am.
