Around 5pm the winds picked up and the clouds dumped heavy rain and piles of hailstones around the town.
Reports indicate that it only lasted around 15 to 20 minutes and it appears have focused most of its fury on Gloucester, with many areas outside of town left untouched.
Despite the wild weather State Emergency Service (SES) Gloucester Controller, Robert McNeice said they only received two call outs.
"We had two houses with roofs removed in the winds," Rob explained.
It was a slightly different experience for the NSW Fire and Rescue Gloucester unit who were called out to the new nursing home on Ravenshaw Street after reports of water in the building.
According to a spokesperson from Anglican Care there was leakage in the roof that affected some staff areas and back of house but there was no impact on residents.
As it's a new building, works are under warranty for defects and Kingston Building Australia are on site today (Friday November 13) to assess and fix any damage.
After putting a call out on Facebook, the Gloucester Advocate has received several photos and videos of the storm.
Photos show the streets converted into rivers due to the heavy downpour and lawns covered in white from the hail.
There were also been several videos posted of the storm showing the torrential rain and hail crashing down.
