Gloucester Golf Club's sponsorship this week was provided by the Avon Valley Inn (better known to locals as the top pub). A huge thank you to Troy Cudbertson and crew for generously supporting our club. There has been a long history of the top pub and the golf club working together and supporting each other. It is wonderful that the partnership is continuing to flourish.

In A Grade, Greg West's impressive form of late has borne fruit and considering the conditions are tougher now with the expungement of preferred lies 39 stableford points is quite the score. B Grade's best was recorded by our super-efficient handicapper and all-round good guy Dave Mann with a steady 35 points. A well-deserved win for one of our unsung legends of the club! In C Grade Paul Coote's 36 was good enough to take the top position in that grade. Paul also does a tremendous amount of work around the club which is greatly appreciated.
Ball Comp: Above mentioned plus Shane Crichton 38, Jamie Andrews 37, Kyran Laurie 37, Craig McLeod 36 (12/24 split!!) Only one Nearest the Pin was recorded on Saturday but it was a darn good one. Shane Crichton almost holed out on the 4th hole and scored a jackpot for his efforts (i.e. a dozen golf balls). Nice shooting Shane! Bill Murray absolutely smoked one off the 8th tee to claim the B Grade long drive. Rumour has it that it was only hundreds of metres shy of the 200m marker - a mighty blow Billy! Next Week is a Stroke event for the Arkwood Trophy and on Sunday the annual Back Bar Day is on - make sure you get your names down for what promises to be a cracking day.
Hot news on the junior golf front is that our budding super star Mitch Andrews played in the District Junior Championships at Tallwoods on Sunday and took the top prize in the sub-juniors with 38 points. Great work Mitch - that is a score to be well proud of - Tallwoods is no easy course. Keep up the good work!
Super Seven Results for this week: winner: Peter Buettel with a monumental 21 points. Great work Pete. Balls also to Chris Pritchard 17, Graeme Marsh 17, Pete Buettel 15, Graham Hjorth 15, Phil Hawkins 14. Until next week, good golfing.
