On Tuesday January 19, veteran golf at Gloucester played an individual stroke event which saw club captain, Roy Crichton tear away with a good win, a four over par gross score giving him a net score two ahead of his nearest rival.

The day itself provided ideal weather conditions for the game; sunny, warm and with a nice breeze coming in from the south east.

The event itself, sponsored by Margaret and Brian McInnes, was an individual stroke with a putting competition in conjunction.

The winner was Roy Crichton with a net 69; he was followed by Bill Murray 71, Peter Buetel 72 and ball winners Brian McInnes 73, Rick Paff 76, Veteran's captain Derek Bardwell 77, and Ian Maggs, Steve Hurworth, Mark Stone, Mike Howard, Dale Rabbett and Sally Higgins all with a net score of 78.

Nearest-to-the-Pins were won by Denver Webb at the 4th-13th holes and Sally Higgins and Mike Howard at the 6th-15th holes.

The putting competition was won by Brian McInnes who took a mere 21 putts in his round.

On Australia Day, our Veteran's Golf Club play an Individual Stableford sponsored by Anne and John Herd while the first Tuesday in February sees another Individual Stableford this time sponsored by Bert Newman.
