Thursday at the Gloucester Bowling Club resulted in a big and surprising victory for Tony Tersteeg, George Wisemantel and Terry Carson over John Andrews, Terry Higgins and Don Mehieloff by a 34-5 margin which was sufficient for them to collect the bacon.

Mike Sheely, Chris Pritchard and Ken Bryant also had an easy day defeating Lu Urby, Stephen Hurworth and Graham Holstein 28-14. Peter Sansom, Neville Atkins and Steve Kriss defeated Andrew Henderson, Rob Heininger and James Davison 30-17. Kevin Everett, Terry Davies and Robbie Bowden prove too consistent for Jason Cassidy, Robert Hayes and Alex Laurie winning 22-15. And Gordon Pritchard, Nico Duynhoven and Norm McLeod collected eight shots on the 17th end which through their opponents Vic Hebblewhite, Gary Spokes and Paul Sheridan into apoplexie for a 21-19 win.
A field of 27 turned out on Saturday morning in glorious weather with Jill Everett, Joan Ridgeway and Dennis Bartlett playing a swinging lead role to win the day over Jean Holstein, Judy Sheely and the swinger 24-12. Runners up were John Andrews who steered the ship well for his less experienced partners Di Lockwood and Jenny Burley for a 23-8 victory over Lu Urby, Colleen Atkins, Julie Kriss. Mike Sheely, Chris Pritchard and Alex Laurie defeated Kevin Everett, Ken Bryant and Del Buckton 22-10. Neville Atkins, Steve Kriss and Anne Andrews defeated Nico Duynhoven, Bob Newitt and Joy Hurworth 14-9. And Stephen Hurworth, Di Pritchard scored four on the last end to defeat Bev Murray and the apprentice Sue Bryant 17-15.
The quarter finals of the minor singles were played on Saturday afternoon with Chris Pritchard sending a warning to his future opposition with a 31-9 victory over Terry Higgins. Tony Tersteeg played great bowls to get over Ken Bryant 31-6. George Wisemantel had a narrow win 31-28 over Kevin Burley. Mathew Higgins had previously defeated Bob Jones to advance to the semi finals and now will play Chris Pritchard to determine who advances to the final on Sunday August 8 to play George Wisemantel who defeated Tony Tersteeg 31-21.
The men's fours nominations are on the board and close on August 12 with the first round scheduled for August 21 and the State play off for the number seven pennant sides has now been transferred to October 15,16 and 17 depending on COVID.
