Within the junior mandatory technology program, students learn about a range of sustainable farming practices such as the promotion of native plants and animals.
As part of the program students propagate Lilli Pilli shrubs from seeds and cuttings.
Students participated in National Tree Day (Sunday August 1) by planting some of their propagated Lilli Pilli's.
Mia Sharples planted her Lilli pilli along with Abbigale Sterling, Danieka Wakefield, Tallulah Ashby, James Berry and Skye Hill. Lachlan Harvey planted his Port Jackson fig and was ably assisted by Hayden Rae.
Hunter Local Land Service has also helped out by providing the school with funding to purchase other native trees and shrubs as well as a pole mounted camera that enables the students to look into the bird boxes they've built and placed around the school.
