Rob Moore was the only golfer with a "6" in front of his net score for the Arkwood family Monthly Medal at the Gloucester Golf Club last Saturday. The medal is an Individual Stroke event with the medal going to the best net score across the field; there are net and gross trophies in three grades.

In a good-sized field of 34 there were nine players putting in a round with a score of net par or better on what was a generally overcast day and otherwise fair golfing conditions.
The monthly medal was won by Rob Moore with a net score of 67 the best net score of the day by a handy three strokes.
The net winners were Steve Macdonald 70 in A grade, Rob Moore 67 in B grade and Peter Markey 71 in C grade.
The best gross in A grade was that of Jamie Andrews 72; Doug Blanch 85 had the best gross in B grade and Peter Markey 85 doubled up in C grade to win the best gross score to match his net win in the grade.
Balls in the associated ball competition went to Rob Moore 67, Steve Macdonald, Doug Blanch and John Parish 70, Wayne Maddalena and Peter Markey 71, Paul Blanch, Jamie Andrews and Mitch Andrews 72. Steve Burns, Derek Bardwell and Kev Arney picked up the last three balls with net 73s.
Next Saturday (September 11), the club is playing an Individual Stableford sponsored by Garry Cravino and Garry Randall and the following Saturday there is another Individual Stableford.
Super Sevens for the weekend Friday September 3 had a bumper turnout with forty-two starters overall. The winner was Peter McIntyre who scored 19 Stableford points two points clear of leading ball winners Kev Arney, Phil Patterson, Bill Mansfield and Ian Maggs all scoring 17 points. Peter Buettel, Joost Werz, David Mitchell, Ken Kelly, Rob Moore, Mitch Andrews and Craig McLeod all scored 16 to win a ball for their trouble.
