Since it was announced yesterday (Thursday, September 9) the Mid Coast LGA was not included in those areas of the State to come out of lockdown, Myall Lakes MP Stephen Bromhead has been in contact with deputy premier John Barilaro to have the decision reviewed by NSW Health.
Mr Bromhead reported this evening (Friday) that it has been decided Mid Coast LGA will emerge from lockdown at midnight tonight.
He said Mid Coast LGA would continue to operate under specified conditions outlined by the NSW Government yesterday, to keep regional communities safe.
"I am delighted that we have achieved the outcome I have been lobbying for," he said.
"It goes to show not to give up.
"Thank you to the deputy premier and NSW Health for listening to our community.
"This should provide much needed relief to businesses and individuals who have undoubtedly struggled during the lockdown and children who will go back to school and catch up with their friends.
"I continue to encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible - the State-wide 'roadmap' eases more restrictions for those who are fully vaccinated."
