Sixty-four golfers and local identities turned out for a day of fun golf in bright sunshine and clear weather.
The winning team was Gav McDonald, Linc Groves, Paul Wenham and Stacey Groves with a very impressive 57 strokes from the first tee to the 18th green after appropriate handicap deductions.
Coming home in second spot on a count back and just over one-and-a-half strokes behind were A Frost, D Kirkwood, C Kirkwood and J Kirkwood 58.625.
Third place was filled by the team comprising J Bowden, P Bowden, C Murray and D Boehme on the same score of 58.625.
A little more than a stroke further back in fourth place were B Osborne, P Budden, J Witt and G Peters with a score of 59.75.
The remaining 12 teams, 48 players in all, each went home with a ball for their trouble. Rumour has it that a goodly proportion of the entire field also took away a slight headache as their memory of the day.
The Super Sevens for the week ending Friday October 22 was won by Rob Moore with 18 Stableford points on a count back from Graeme Marsh also on 18 points and the leading ball winner. Kev Arney was next with 16 points followed by Wayne Maddalena, Phil Hawkins and Jamie Andrews all scoring 15 Stableford points.
On Saturday October 30, Gloucester Golf Club will be playing and Individual Stableford sponsored by Shane Crichton. This will be followed on Saturday November 6 by the Monthly Medal an Individual Stroke competition sponsored by the Arkwood family.
