Hagenbach will add experience to what could be a youthful Bushmen side. He made his debut in the opening round game against Wingham at Wingham and took three wickets in the encounter won by Wingham. Hagenbach formerly played in the strong Port Macquarie-Hastings competition and lives in that area.
"I've known Aaron for a few years and he contacted me a while ago to say he'll be working in this area up until next year,'' Gloucester captain and club president Ryan Yates said.
"He asked me if we needed another player. He's quite a handy cricketer, so I said yes pretty quick.
"Aaron bowled really well last weekend and he can bat as well. It'll be good having someone a bit older in the side to help guide the young fellas we have.''
Gloucester scrambled to field a side for the clash due to a number of players being unavailable. As it was they only had 10 for the game.
"We had three or four players who are still in under 16s or 17s,'' Yates said.
"They all went really well.''
Two key members of last season's X1 - captain and classy batter Harry Clarke and opening bowler Sam Whitbread - won't be playing this season. Both have moved to Newcastle.
"A couple of other blokes will play a few games here and there but not every week due to work commitments,'' Yates said.
"But when we get everyone there I'm sure we'll be competitive.''
Wingham batted first and scored 207 last weekend, with Hagenbach the best of the Gloucester bowlers with three wickets.
Gloucester replied with 88, Lincoln Blissett top scoring with 33. The failure to build any game defining partnerships proved costly for the Bushmen.
Four sides will contest this season's T1 premiership, Gloucester, Great Lakes, Wingham and Taree United. Gloucester is due to play Great Lakes this weekend. The clash could be transferred to Gloucester as the Tuncurry ground is still out of action, although this hadn't been confirmed at the time of writing.
