The best ice-cream and gelato in Australia has been crowned with one state claiming both titles.

A peanut caramel gelato from Milano Minus Eight Degrees, based in Sunnybank, Brisbane, was named champion dairy gelato at the 2024 Australian Grand Dairy Awards.
The gelato also took out the overall champion dairy product gong at the industry's illustrious awards night.
Owner and gelato-maker Yue Lin said a family trip to Italy in 2004 inspired his foray into gelato.
"10 years later I returned to study gelato-making and my career began," he said.
"My family and I at Milani Minus Eight Degrees have been dedicated to gelato perfection since we opened, and the award is yet another acknowledgement of this dedication."
Meanwhile The Standard Market Company, based in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, won champion ice-cream for a second year with its Lindt 70% Chocolate Ice Cream.
The annual competition run by Dairy Australia celebrates the best dairy producers in the country.
Nearly 400 of the country's cheese, milk, yoghurt, ice cream, gelato, butter and cream products went head-to-head at the awards.
The grand champion cheese for 2024 was awarded to Berrys Creek Oak Blue cheese, based in Victoria's Gippsland region at Fish Creek.
