The day began with a General Meeting followed by lunch amid much chatter as members caught up after the break.
Outgoing President VIvien Webeck gave her report, thanking members and the outgoing committee for a successful 2023.
A presentation was made to those members who had achieved 100 per cent attendance over the past year while January and February birthdays were celebrated.
A welcome was extended to two new members, Sandra Clarke and Lidia Sorensen. Sandra delivered a short report of her experience as a foster parent under The Smith Family program.
The Annual General Meeting was held after lunch, chaired by Judy Earle, filling in for absent VIEW councillors. All procedures were followed, including asking for nominations from the floor before the 2024 Committee was elected.
Under the umbrella of The Smith Family, over 300 VIEW (Voice, Interests, Education of Women) Clubs support disadvantaged Australian children while fostering ongoing friendships with like-minded women.
Gloucester VIEW Club currently supports four Learning for Life students and the ladies meet on the third Tuesday of the month from 11:00am at Gloucester Country Club.
Members are planning for the coming meetings which will include guest speakers and an ANZAC commemoration among other activities in addition to hosting an International Women's Day morning tea on Friday, March 8, to which all interested folk are invited. (10am, Uniting Church Hall, guest speaker, $15pp.)
